tea tree oil for warts
Can anyone tell me what they know about using tea tree oil to treat genital warts?

I found a few websites about it before but I can't seem to find them anymore. I read that applying tea tree oil to the warts is a great home remedy to get them to shrink... how often should I do this? Is it okay to dab the tea tree oil on the warts, even if they're a little bit inside my vagina? How long do I leave the tea tree oil on.. overnight? Do I need to dilute it?

I keep finding random or differing answers so if anyone has any advice I would greatly appreciate it!

How to find a couples sex therapist
My partner and I have been having some issues, probably related to abuse that each of us has suffered in the past. We each have our own personal therapists, whom we are happy with, but neither is comfortable seeing one half of a couple AND the couple (which makes sense to me, and I respect that). We did get a recommendation for a couples therapist from one of ours, not someone she knew personally, or whom she had worked with. We've been seeing him for a couple of month but have become increasingly unhappy with him. Ideally, we would like to find someone who would be amenable to giving us specific exercises etc that might allow us to work toward a more fulfilling sex life.

If anyone knows of a good therapist in the Boston area (Red Line accessible would be a plus), that would be fantastic. Barring that, any advice on how to go about finding a therapist would be greatly appreciated.

Pressure in uretha? UTI?
Hey Ladies,

I had an appointment with PP about two weeks ago to have my annual done because my gyno couldn't fit me in for months. At that time, I was experiencing a weird pressure in what I think is my urethra, just behind my clitoris. It was there almost all the time and I was having urgency and a higher frequency of peeing. They took a urine sample, because I thought maybe I'm having a UTI, and gave me sulfa for three days. At the end of the three days, it felt better, but wasn't completely gone. I went to urgent care then (I don't have a primary) and they looked at my urine and found white blood cells, so they gave me cipro for five days. It went away for a few days, but then when the antibiotics were done, it came back. So then the doctor at urgent care put me on seven days of macrobid. I'm currently on my second day.

I was wondering if any of you guys have experienced UTIs with the pressure/strange feeling in the urethra. It's there almost all the time and it's really uncomfortable. I've had lots of UTIs but never quite like this. I had my period during this and tampons didn't hurt so I don't think its any problems with my vagina, but I'm just curious. The obsessive person in me is coming up with worst case scenarios. Haha.

Thank you to everyone for your answers to my last post!

I think I'm going to end up buying 7 meters of 152 cm wide fabric (or whatever the equivalency of 60" fabric is. I'm planning on making a version of this which <lj-user="msmcknittington"> suggested. But I'm not doing the foldover, and I'll do a front and a back separate pieces. Then I'm going to cut two 1/4 circle sections and insert them as side panels.

I'm concerned about the panels not falling quite right with the circles. I need the panels to be about 40-50" wide (won't know til I play with how that much material drapes for the top part) and 72" long, and the 1/4 circles will be about 60" long. Since the panels need to be so long, I can't just cut them on the bias, so I was thinking if I taper the panels, so the long sides are diagonal lines, and the pieces are smaller at the top and the full width at the bottom, it might be more likely to hang right with the side inserts.

Does that make sense?

I was thinking about trying to find some cheap white sheets, because they're almost the perfect dimensions, but I think it will probably be cheaper to buy fabric. I would need something like 4 twin sized flat sheets!

I don't have a large margin for error, so if you see a potential problem, please tell me!

confusion about delaying the pill
Hi!

I am going on holiday in eight days, and am worried that I might have my period whilst away, and that is something I really would rather not have to deal with.

So, I went to the Doctor, and he prescribed me with Norethisterone tablets, and said to take one, three times a day, which is fine. Going by my guess work (I'm pretty sure I was ovulating a couple of days ago, so) my period should start in about 14 days time from then, which will be the monday of my holiday (I fly on the saturday) I asked the doctor when to start taking the tablets and he said that I should start taking them on the plane, unless I come on before hand and then if I start taking them straight away then it will stop the bleeding.

I'm a bit unsure of this, the leaflet that came with the pills said to start taking it three days beforehand and does not mention it stopping a period that has already started, so i'm not sure which advice to follow.

I was wondering if anybody here has been prescribed this for the same reason, or has heard anything about it stopping a period that has already started?

Also, I have recently come off of the pill, so i'm not sure if I will be getting my period when I am predicting and am worried that if I take this when I don't need to, it could cause some problems?

Thanks in advance :)

Warped Tour hits Boston; remains epic fail while doing so

Amid the rain, Warped Tour overflows with disparate acts

Vans Warped Tour
At: Comcast Center, Wednesday
By Marc Hirsh
Globe Correspondent / July 25, 2008

MANSFIELD - For a half hour, it poured buckets at Wednesday's sold-out Comcast Center stop of the Vans Warped Tour, sending thousands from the massive punk-rock midway that was once the parking lot to seek shelter under the cover of the amphitheater. There, on the only stages unaffected by the deluge, Ludo (preening sub-My Chemical Romance-isms) and Madina Lake (confetti-cannon hard-core) played to captive audiences until the weather cleared.

Those were probably the only experiences shared by everybody. The inflatable monolith on the midway listed the schedules for six different stages, while the printout posted at the guest services center covered nine. There were at least three others not listed on either, making it easy to miss a modest gem like the soul- and Motown-influenced punk of Saint Alvia Cartel.

Luckily, it wasn't hard to catch something worthwhile. Against Me! mixed a disco-pop sensibility with a punk approach and an improbable vein of heartland rock. The Aggrolites were one of the tour's ska contingent, clad entirely in red and laying down a sharp groove on the Beatles's "Don't Let Me Down." The geek contingent was ably represented by power-dance band Cobra Starship, whose frontman, Gabe Saporta, came across like an '80s-disco version of British Invasion nerd Freddie Garrity. And punk Rottweilers Street Dogs unsurprisingly gathered the hometown crowd's allegiance with ease.

With the overwhelming number of acts, some letdowns were also inevitable. Shwayze's two-MC party hip-hop couldn't quite make up its mind whether it was an ironic joke or not. Relient K played by-the-numbers emo-pop, while Say Anything was intense but hollow.

Less inevitable was Warped's continuing shortage of women onstage, made all the more glaring by their more than adequate representation in the crowd. There were so few female performers, in fact, that they had to double up, with Cobra Starship keytarist Victoria Asher dancing with affable dork-rappers 3OH!3.

Aching to be an American Lily Allen but lacking the attitude to pull it off, Katy Perry sounded like nobody so much as Miley Cyrus, with her slick guitar pulse and vague "You go, girl!" lyrics that resonated with the teenage girls in the crowd. Fake coyness notwithstanding, she betrayed her own lack of nerve when her band introduced her by pounding out the riff to Heart's "Barracuda" and she didn't even try to sing the song.

Perry was seemingly at Warped purely as a credibility-building exercise, but the spirit of the tour was captured by rapper Othello. On a "stage" that was nothing more than a sheet of linoleum in front of a tent, he performed on equal footing with his audience. Aided by high-energy, snap-funky beats, he broke down more boundaries between artist and fan than a thousand Perry autograph lines. Then, as DJ Manwell's scratch break started, he invited everyone into the tent to watch.

Why yes, I did only post this for the lolarious picture.

Fuck Those Cancer Kids
Normally I try to bring some interest to these write-ups, but this one is just too much. This isn't [info]cf_hardcore, but it damn well could be . . . or SHOULD be, because you should have to hate children to be this nasty about them.

If you were going to be really pissed off about something, what might it be? Corporate welfare? Child molestation?

How about last wishes for kids with cancer?

[info]brennakimi objects to Make A Wish Foundation, as well as a pretend wedding for a dying English child.

She has many cogent and edgy arguments:
millions of kids die every day and no one gives a shit. i can't even begin to fathom how one's last wish would be to get married. it's probably symptomatic of some ridiculous, unhealthy concept of marriage.

it's so nice that rich white people get one last chance at happiness before they die.

the kids are fine. sick. dying. but fine. it's these ridiculous people that think they need to be coddled.

their lives, shy of any treatment and side effects, are pretty much like ours.

I defy any of you to read this one without spiking your blood pressure.

Ganked from the lovely [info]bajingo and the little kids table.

Meg Ryan gains ten stone... after donning a fat suit

The actress, 46, has gained TEN STONE in a new movie comedy called 'My Mom's Hot Boyfriend.'

But unlike some of Hollywood's yo-yo dieting actresses, the weight gain is only temporary as the actress' 18 stone transformation came courtesy of a very convincing fat suit.

Meg's metamorphosis from girl next door to the porky neighbour took three hours in the make-up trailer each day to create.

She said: 'I didn't mind the make-up. I like a character who is all about transformation."

In the film, Meg eventually sheds the excess pounds and dates Hollywood heart-throb Antonio Banderas.

She added: 'She was enormous, and now she's foxy.'

Ironically, Colin Hanks - son of her 'Sleepless in Seattle' and 'You've Got Mail' co-star Tom Hanks - plays her on-screen son.

He's an FBI agent who returns home after a three-year assignment to discover his chunky mother is now super-hot.

But his life turns into a nightmare when he's forced to spy on her every move because her dashing new boyfriend - alias Banderas - may be an international art thief.

WHAT?!?!?!?

Sources reveal that Kathy Griffin's long-time assistant and My Life on the D-List co-star, Jessica Zajicek, has quit.
And, "it's not pretty," an insider tells us.
The split happened earlier this month.
Unfortunately, her Bravo show is not currently under production, so we'll miss out on the drama on TV!
"Jessica had just had enough of Kathy," says our insider. "She put up with her for several years. She couldn't take it anymore."
Sad to see her go. Jessica was a huge part of Kathy's show!

omg people! I just remembered this kinda TMI story from when I went on vacation to Spain. It involves shit and only YOU people would appreciate the pain I went through.

We decided to take this long bus ride up this mountain into a mountain town called Ronda. I take Immodium AD with me EVERYWHERE but for some reason, I didn't take one that morning (dumb). I merrily boarded the bus - it was to be about an hour ride. About a half hour in..... I started to feel rumblings in my lower belly. Nooooot good. I popped 2 immodium without anything to drink. I started to feel hot and a little sweaty and I got sensations in my asshole like the shit was impending! I still had about 20 mins to go (but I didn't really know since I'd never been to this town before). I was clenching that asshole like my life depended on it- which it pretty much did because if I shat myself, I was going to have to be in it all day long! But you know how the feelings come and go a little but when this happens? You get teased into thinking maybe it'll go away but then 1 minute later, you're having to clench it like no tomorrow again!! I tried to breathe slowly to relax myself while at the same time holding my sphincter closed as tightly as possible.

Oh man.... I could NOT wait to get off that bus- when it arrived at the bus depot I got off and beelined it for a bathroom as quickly as I could!! I went in and there were 2 stalls and I entered one immediately. It didn't have a latch so it wouldn't stay closed but FUCK IT! When your shit needs to come out yesterday? You have no time to worry about latches!! I got my pants down as fast as I possibly could because my ass was about to explode! Oh man, I let it rip and hot liquishit blasted out of me so fast into that toilet that some of it splashed back a little. Of course, the entire rest of the ladies on that bus also wanted to go to the bathroom so there were 3 or 4 women in that tiny bathroom. 1 of them opened my door but then apologized and closed it again.

Then.... there were only like 3 pieces of toilet paper left on the roll with no back up. >_< !!!!!!! OK, when you have liquishits..... 3 pieces ain't gonna do squat for cleaning your ass off. Luckily, I had a single wet nap in my pocket. Which I tried to use as best as possible. Of course, it hardly did anything and then it made my ass feel kinda even worse because it didn't dry well and kinda made me itch. Jeez.... IBS just sucks. I hate it! But I've learned my lesson from that... even if my tummy doesn't feel weird- just take an Immodium anyway.
